Home Depot customers fight over plywood near Miami during Irma preparation

Posted

Tensions boiled over at a North Miami, Florida Home Depot Tuesday night as customers feuded over pieces of plywood, WPLG-TV reported

According to WPLG, lines were long at the Home Depot as customers were purchasing supplies in advance of Hurricane Irma. Irma is expected to strike South Florida this weekend, potentially as a Category 5 hurricane.

Some stores are experiencing shortages due to Irma's arrival.

"He just hit me," Joshua Shempko told a Home Depot employee.

"He grabbed me and then he lunged," Shempko, who had blood on his face, told WPLG.

WPLG reported that the alleged attacker tried to run away, but was later caught by police.
