Video of a brawl in a Sacramento-area high school emerged on Monday that shows a student picking up the school's principal and slamming him to the ground.

The video, uploaded to YouTube on Monday, shows a student grabbing Three Florin High School principal Dan Ross and tossing him to the ground. The student then resumes throwing punches at other students involved in the fight.

Ross quickly jumped back into the scuffle and helped restrain the students with the help of a school resource officer.

According to a report from Fox 40 in Sacramento, three students were arrested following the fight.

In a letter released to parents on Monday, Ross said the incident arose from an ongoing "relationship-orientated" dispute and stated that the "safety of our students and staff is a top priority at our school."

No students or staff required medical attention following the fight.

The incident took place on the same day that a school resource officer tackled and dragged a student across the floor while making an arrest at a high school in Columbia, South Carolina. The officer involved in that arrest has since been fired.
