Police in Washington state closed several streets on Saturday morning as they investigated reports of a person firing shots at passing cars. It turned out to be a man allegedly firing a rifle inside a hotel room, sending the bullets flying through the room's walls and into the street outside.
According to Yakima, Washington's KNDO, Jamin Harris was arrested after multiple police agencies investigated what they described as "an active shooter" at about 6 a.m. local time. The news outlet broke the story and reported that the action was focused around the Shilo Inn on George Washington Way in Richland, Washington.
When police arrived at the scene, officers reportedly heard gunshots and decided to lock the area down. "Officials told our reporter that they've heard multiple shots and the suspect is firing a rifle at passing cars," KNDO reported.
Apparently, Harris was angered when a woman he was with decided to leave his hotel room, allegedly prompting him to start firing his gun, police told KNDO.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
