Semisonic’s hit song “Closing Time” is quite catchy, but most of us can only take so much of it.

Ask an Oregon woman who recently called police to report a man who wouldn’t stop “obnoxiously” whistling the song.

According to Time, officers responded to reports of who the woman described as a “jack-ss guy” who refused to stop whistling, Time reports, citing Captain Mark Herb of the Forest Grove Police Department.

“It’s not clear if the caller would have been more or less upset if it was a different genre or whether it was just the talent lacking in the whistling” Herb, who writes the department’s entertaining weekly police log, told Time.

The woman apparently told the man to “shutup” – and he didn’t take it well. A verbal altercation broke out, prompting the woman to call the cops. By the time they arrived, the man had already moved on.

When police eventually caught up to the man, he was reportedly still whistling “Closing Time.”

Though annoying, it wasn’t a crime, so officers sent him on his way and he “whistled his way back home,” according to the police log.
