Quick thinking by one man on Couchville Pike saved the life of a woman who had crashed into a power pole, according to the woman's daughter.

Neighbors who live in the area captured dramatic images of the aftermath of a crash on Couchville near Underwood Road in Wilson County.

According to officials with the Wilson County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened around 7:00 a.m. At the same time, Brian Anderson was driving up to the wreck. He got out, and tried to save Jones, whose truck was one fire. Anderson said he pulled at a partially rolled down window until it broke. Then he pulled Jones from the wreck.

Nikki Nash lives across the street and watched the whole rescue.

"He was banging on the window with his elbow, trying to break the window. Somehow, it finally broke. He pulled her out unconscious, over the window, pulled her out and dragged her over to safety," said Nash. "It was like witnessing a miracle. If that man hadn't been there, or if he had gotten scared and quit, or something. That woman would've been burned alive."

According to Jones' daughter, the woman broke her collar bone, a rib and punctured a lung, but is recovering at home.

She said Anderson has been calling to check in on Jones every day.
