NES sends 9 contract crews to Louisiana ahead of Hurricane Laura

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Nashville Electric Service sent nine contract crews to Louisiana as Hurricane Laura makes its way up the Gulf.

The crews will help in power restoration efforts in the wake of Tropical Storm Marco and Hurricane Laura, which was declared a Category 4 hurricane on Wednesday afternoon.

Five crews were staged in Kenner, Louisiana and four crews were staged in Baton Rouge.

NES said the company will continue to monitor the situation in the Gulf and will consider sending additional crews if needed.
