New Phone App Delivers Groceries To Your Door

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  - You no longer have to leave home to get your groceries. A new phone app will pick them up and deliver them for you.

It's called Shipt and it works very similar to other shopping phone applications. You select an item and then add it to a shopping cart, a Shipt Shopper receives your list and then picks up the groceries for you.

"Our Shipt customers can go in and pick from about 40 thousand different items that are typically found in your grocery store. From their order we know exactly the sizes our customers want, the brands, everything" said Elizabeth Wright, a Shipt Shopper.

Wright started working for the company last month. She says shoppers can make anywhere from $15 to $20 per delivery depending on the order.

The $99 annual membership fee covers free delivery to any orders over $35.

Bethany Collins is a loyal customer.

"I put in what I want, I tell them when I want it and they literally walk it in and put in on the counter for me," said Collins.

She says one time a driver was late and didn't have everything on her list, but she says the customer service was excellent.

"They gave me a full refund and then delivered all the groceries on my list," Collins added.

Shipt's cover area includes Nashville, Brentwood, Franklin and surrounding communities .

The service first became available in July and it's already growing in popularity.
