NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — NewsChannel 5 is proudly partnering with the Nashville Ballet to present a free televised premiere of "Nashville's Nutcracker" this December.
The full-length two-hour show will be the first televised performance for the Nashville Ballet. The company made the decision to replace its previously scheduled in-theater production with a free televised premiere to allow the community to safely continue the holiday tradition.
"Nashville's Nutcracker" tells the classic holiday story with a unique twist by incorporating elements of Music City's vibrant history into the storyline. The show includes local landmarks like the Parthenon, Shelby Bottoms and the Belle Meade Mansion.
This year's show will include a performance by former Tennessee Titan Eddie George, who will provide the show's introduction and narration.
Viewers will have an opportunity to get a unique sneak peek into "Nashville's Nutcracker" rehearsals with company dancers, a look into the set design, interviews with favorite characters and more during a behind-the-scenes special leading up to the premiere on NewsChannel 5.
"Nashville's Nutcracker" will air on Friday, December 18 at 7 p.m. on NewsChannel 5.
