The NewsChannel 5 Network was honored with four regional Edward R. Murrow Awards on Tuesday by the Radio Television Digital News Association, a testament to a year's worth of hard work and high quality journalism.
Photojournalist Angie Dones received three of the awards along with reporters Chris Conte and Jason Lamb.
For Conte and Dones this was the first Edward R. Murrow Award they've received as a team. The pair has worked together at NewsChannel 5 since 2012.
Their story "A Season To Remember" was awarded a regional Murrow in the Sports Reporting category. The story followed the emotional six-month journey of the football team at Nashville Christian School after star wide receiver Mickey Martin was killed in a car accident weeks before the season started.
