The app was named Rivers of Rhythm and features nearly 50 genres of music either created or influenced by African American artists.
You can create playlists and search through lists of musicians who influenced your favorite artists.
NMAAM board member and Multi Grammy-award winning artist Cece Winans said she was excited for what the app would mean for the next generation.
"I am excited about what we are going to learn and how our next generation will be reminded about how powerful music really is,” Winans said.
The innovative website combined medias like Youtube, Vevo and iTunes all in one place.
