Police said they're actively pursuing a limited number of leads in the brutal murder of a 12-year-old girl two weeks after her death.
On August 10, Yhoana Arteaga's mother found the girl dead inside the family's home. So far, police have made no arrests.
"I'm kind of on edge, considering I do live here, and I'd like to feel safe again," said Michael Lara, who lives just down the street from the crime scene.
A police spokesman said investigators have been waiting for test results as evidence has been processed, and on Thursday, multiple unmarked police cars could be seen circling the neighborhood.
But for now, police have been asking anyone with information that could help their investigation to call 615-74-CRIME (615-742-7463).
