LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WTVF) — No one is injured following a house fire in La Vergne Saturday morning.
According to a La Vergne city official, a resident woke up to black smoke in their home on the 400 block of Jefferson Pike just before 5 a.m.
Fire crews arrived at the scene and quickly knocked out the fire.
"Our guys did a great job," La Vergne Fire Chief Ronny Beasley said. "This is why we train so hard, so we can preserve life and property when putting out fires."
The fire is believed to be electrical in nature. While there were no injuries, the home suffered fire, smoke and water damage.
