CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A non-violent inmate who walked away from work detail in Montgomery County has been captured.

Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said 21-year-old Christopher Alan Poore walked away from work detail in the Woodlawn Road area, just west of Purple Heart Parkway.

He had been serving time for theft of property and criminal trespass.

Authorities said a neighbor of a home in the 2600 block of Woodlawn Road noticed someone inside a vacant house that was being renovated and flagged down a patrol deputy.

Poore was found hiding in the attic of that vacant home and was taken into custody around 1:25 p.m. Friday.

Officials said Poore had been taken to the hospital to undergo a medical clearance before being returned to the jail.
