FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into an officer-involved shooting that occured in Williamson County on Saturday.
The shooting happened around 5 p.m. on Nolensville Road and Mullens Road after a vehicle that was the subject of a BOLO (be-on-the-lookout) alert was spotted.
Police then tried to stop the vehicle and after a short pursuit, the driver crashed the car into the woods at the end of Mullens Road.
The driver, Dalton Elam of Alabama, then displayed a knife and the deputy responded by shooting the suspect in the leg.
According to the TBI, a Williamson County deputy shot a male who has been transported to a Nashville hospital. The man's injuries are non-life-threatening.
This investigation is ongoing.
