Officials Investigating Double Shooting In Montgomery Co.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Authorities have asked the public’s help in identifying possible suspects in connection with a double shooting overnight in Montgomery County.

Sheriff’s officials were called to a residence on Barton’s Creek road in the southern part of the county shortly before 1 a.m. A man had reportedly called 911 saying he had been shot in the stomach.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Jeffrey Vogelsang with a gunshot wound. He was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

During the investigation, deputies found that another person had also been shot. Daniel Otten II was found in a tall, grassy area on the property and had been shot twice in the back.

He was also taken to Vanderbilt, where his injuries were said to be non-life threatening.

A motive for the shooting remains unknown. Authorities believe the incident was not random.

The investigation remains ongoing.
