OAK GROVE, Ky. (WTVF) — A child is dead and another is injured after they were struck by a car while attempting to cross the street in Oak Grove, Kentucky, according to Kentucky State Police (KSP).
KSP was contacted by Oak Grove police to investigate the fatal collision Friday just before 5 p.m.
The investigation shows that a 5-year-old girl and 11-year-old girl were trying to cross the street around the 700 block of Pembroke Oak Grove.
The children stepped into the path of a 1992 Dodge Dakota pickup truck towing a trailer.
Both of the girls were transported to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Fort Campbell. The 11-year-old is being treated for injuries to her legs. The 5-year-old was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
