One dead after being struck by car in South Nashville Friday night

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man has died following being struck by a vehicle in South Nashville Friday night.

The incident took place at the intersection of Nolensville Pike and Welshwood Drive shortly around 9:15 p.m.

According to Metro Nashville police, 31-year-old Shannon Mullen was driving her Volkswagen Eos north on Nolensville Pike when she struck the victim, identified as 55-year-old Kenneth Sisco. The man appeared to have been in a crosswalk prior to the collision.

The man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.

At the scene of the incident, police said Mullen smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on her feet and had bloodshot eyes. Her performance in field sobriety tests showed impairment. A blood sample was drawn at General Hospital for alcohol and drug analysis.

Mullen is charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication. She is currently free on a $50,000 bond.
