One dead after single-vehicle crash on Old Harding Pike

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A body was discovered in a vehicle on the side of the road after a passerby noticed the car and notified police.

Police arrived to find the body of 28-year-old Joshua Edwards of Franklin in the car.

According to authorities, Edwards was driving his 2005 Honda Civic south on Old Harding Pike from Highway 96 around 11:30 p.m. when the car drifted off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck a ditch and a tree before coming to rest on its side in the ditch.

Edwards died at the scene.
