One dead in Nashville shooting Wednesday morning

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — One man is dead following a shooting in Nashville near Centennial Park Wednesday morning, Metro police officials said.

Investigation into the shooting has revealed that shots were fired from a dark SUV at two men standing on the sidewalk of apartments on the 3000 block of Long Boulevard.

One of the men - who has tentatively been identified as a 27-year-old - was struck multiple times and killed. The other man ran away from the scene, and has not yet been located.

It is believed there was an exchange of gunfire during the shooting. A drug-related motive is under investigation.

A rented Tahoe that was parked nearby may be connected to the victims.
