NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police Department officers report that one man is dead after a shooting on Wallace Road.
Police responded to the scene at the Rodeway Inn motel Monday night. Officials said the shooting occurred at 9:10 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that 20-year-old Javion Scruggs had been shot from behind.
Police say Scruggs was walking away from a motel room and across the parking lot when a man came up behind him and fired.
The man fled the scene in a car after the shooting.
Scruggs was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died.
