One killed, another critically injured in two related Nashville shootings

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — One person was killed in a shooting in the Napier area of Nashville Friday night.

According to Metro Nashville police, officers responded to a shooting on the 600 block of Charles E. Davis Boulevard just before 10 p.m.. There, they found a black male - identified as 31-year-old Shaun Taylor - who had been shot in the chest.

Taylor was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Just after 10 p.m., officers responded to another shooting on Green Street, where they found another black male - 26-year-old Jeremie Cunningham - who had been shot in the side of his face.

Cunningham was also taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center. He remains hospitalized.

A blood trail led from Green Street to the area where Taylor was shot. A discarded gun was also found. Detectives are investigating whether Cunningham shot Taylor. A third, currently unidentified person is believed to have shot Cunningham.

The incident is still under investigation.
