NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A homeless man - 44-year-old Stephen Brummer - died after being struck by a vehicle as he tried to cross the street on Old Hickory Boulevard Wednesday night.
According to Metro Police, Brummer was hit by a 2017 Nissan Altima, which was being driven by 29-year-old Kristin Rehbach, as she was travelling west on Old Hickory Boulevard.
As Rehbach reached the crest of a hill, Brummer was crossing the street from north to south. Rehbach said she braked, but was unable to avoid hitting Brummer.
No evidence was found to suggest any impairment on Rehbach's part and no charges are anticipated against her. A blood sample from Brummer will be tested for alcohol or drugs by the Medical Examiner.
