NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville police investigated a deadly crash involving a Toyota Camry and a dump truck late Tuesday in Nashville. The crash happened on Old Hickory Boulevard, not far from I-24, on the north side of Nashville at about 10:30p.m. Tuesday.

The driver in the Camry was killed. She has been identified as 34-year-old Heather Adkins.

No one else was injured.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the crash, but so far, they say it appears the dump truck was preparing to turn into a construction zone when Adkins rear-ended it in her Camry. Adkins was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. Based on the location of her cell phone following the crash, it's possible she was using it at the time of the collision.

Lanes of Old Hickory Blvd. were closed for a few hours, but reopened at about 1:00a.m. Wednesday.
