A celebration was held for a brand new Metro school. Governor Bill Haslam and Mayor David Briley helped cut the ribbon at Valor College Prep.
The charter school welcomed a freshman class of 240 students this fall.
Governor Haslam congratulated CEO Todd Dickson at the ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday for what the Academy has already achieved with its two middle schools: Flagship and Voyager Academies.
Flagship and Voyager Academies were recently named Reward Schools, which is a list of best-performing schools in the state.
