NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Organizations donated to thousands to the school lunch debt problems in Metro Nashville Public Schools.

The School Lunch Fairy wrote a check for $12,000 to help 14 different schools. Outback Presents completely erased the debt for three of the middle schools.

Metro School Board chairperson Anna Shephard is thankful for the generosity.

"I know that J.T. Morris had both semesters and future semesters school lunch debt paid," Shephard said.

MNPS hasn't updated its lunch debt totals since the donation. However, the district is still collecting money to pay off the debts.
