An overturned vehicle shut down a portion of Interstate 24 in Rutherford County.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes near mile marker 72, a couple miles past the exit for Interstate 840, just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Details had not been released regarding the cause of the crash. At least two vehicles were involved, and authorities said three or four people were injured. The extent of those injuries was unknown.
The roadway was closed for about an hour to westbound drivers. Eastbound traffic was affected with rubbernecking delays.
Crews said the roadway was cleared slightly after 10:30 a.m.
