FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The owner of a platinum diamond ring that was discovered by a Good Samaritan in Franklin has been identified.
The ring was found last week in the Williamson Square Shopping Center parking lot at 1113 Murfreesboro Road in Franklin.
Officials with Franklin Police confirmed Wednesday that the owner has come forward and claimed the ring. The unidentified person apparently saw a photo of the ring on Twitter.
Authorities commended the Good Samaritan for going out of their way to drive to police headquarters and turn it in. Their identity was not released.
Tweets were previously sent out on the Franklin Police account, with less specific information about the ring in an attempt to locate the owner.
