ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. - Authorities in Cheatham County arrested two parents at a home where officers said drugs were being kept near the couple’s small children.

Police and a probation officer were called to the house where they found Kevin Michael King and Ashley Nicole Gay barricaded in a bathroom.

The two allegedly pushed a six-year-old out of the bathroom toward the officers who had their guns drawn. The child was taken away safely.

Authorities said heroin and needles were found next to a baby bed. All children in the home were taken into state custody.

Both King and Gay have been charged with violation of probation, possession of a schedule I drug (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, and reckless endangerment.
