Tennessee's two main political parties found themselves searching for a sense of unity on Wednesday, following Donald Trump's surprising victory in the 2016 Presidential election.
"Of course it’s painful and heartbreaking...a peaceful transfer of power is what this country is all about," said Mary Mancini, Chair of the Tennessee Democratic Party.
Republicans too who struggled to support candidate Trump were rallying around the president-elect on Wednesday.
"As Hillary Clinton said it’s time to wish him the best and hope that our country succeeds and I think it will," said Ryan Haynes, Chair of the Tennessee Republican Party.
