NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Following the closure of smaller "transpotainment" vehicles, Metro Nashville Mayor John Cooper ordered that larger vehicles, like "party buses" or "party barges" would now be closed as well.
Those larger vehicles fall under the authority of the Tennessee Department of Safety, according to the Mayor.
... but also now, “passenger vehicles for hire that are subject to the authority of the Tennessee Department of Safety on which passengers are allowed to consume alcoholic beverages.’’ This in effect closes party barges, party buses, etc. (2/2).

It's the latest in a series of moves that impact Nashville's tourism scene, focused heavily on the downtown area. On July 17th, Mayor Cooper announced that pedicabs, pedal carriages, and limousines must close through the end of the month, and earlier this week announced that all restaurants must shut down to dine-in customers at 10 p.m. Bars were shut down entirely earlier in the month.
This is a breaking news story. More information will be added as it becomes available.
