HERMITAGE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A patient was arrested after sexually assaulting an employee at TriStar Summit Medical Center, Metro police said.
The patient - 27-year-old Kelby Bowen - was being released from TriStar Summit, and was alone in the room with the employee.
Bowen then uncrossed his arms from behind his head and grabbed the employee's behind, while also reaching between her legs.
Bowen removed his hand, said, "Sorry," and winked at the employee.
The hospital employee specified that no consent was given for the contact, and it was unwanted.
"The health, safety and welfare of our patient care team is of utmost importance," a TriStar Summit spokeswoman said. "As soon as we were made aware of the situation, hospital security immediately intervened and promptly contacted local law enforcement. We will continue to provide our full support to authorities as part of their investigation."
Bowen was arrested and charged with sexual battery. His bond was set at $5,000.
