People laced up their skates and hit the ice for a good cause.
The Paw Classic vintage hockey tournament was held at Bridgestone Arena on Sunday.
Proceeds were set to go to Metro Animal Care and Control.
The creator started the tournament as a way to say thanks after adopting an animal at the facility, and the event has grown ever since.
“When you come here, you realize how community-based it is and so many people helping each other, and that's truly what I wanted to do was put something together,” said Jeff Medolla.
More than $1,000 was raised, which will help buy toys and blankets for the animals.
Another hockey tournament will be played in June at Ford Ice Center.
