A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Montgomery County.
The crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Ashland City Road and Gatlin Street on the south side of Clarksville.
Investigators from the Clarksville Police Department said a 2014 Nissan Maxima eastbound when it struck 41-year-old Howard Williams.
It was not clear why Williams was in the roadway. Police believed he had been drinking before the crash.
Williams was transported by LifeFlight medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with serious injuries. Williams was in stable condition once at the hospital.
Police did not provide additional details of the crash, and did not say if the driver remained on the scene or drove away. They did say additional details would be released.
No charges had been filed against the driver.
