A pedestrian was killed in a crash on Interstate 24 in Rutherford County after his car ran out of gas.
Officers were called to the scene near Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro just before 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said a man had run out of gas and was walking along the interstate to get to a gas station.
According to officials, the driver that hit him did not see him in time and could not stop.
Lanes were blocked on I-24 East in Murfreesboro while the investigation continues.
The driver was not facing charges at this time.
