Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train In Bellevue

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A pedestrian was killed Monday morning after being struck by a train west of Nashville. 

The incident happened around 5 a.m. at Sawyer Brown Road and Todd Preis Drive in Bellevue.

Officials with Metro Police said the engineer saw the man lying on the tracks shortly before impact. The victim apparently looked up and saw the train coming, but police said he made no attempt to move.

He was struck and killed. His identity was not known. 

No foul play was suspected. 

Sawyer Brown Road was closed while officials remained on the scene but has since reopened.

No additional details were known.
