People Raise Money At 'Bald In The Boro'

Posted

People in Murfreesboro have raised money for childhood cancer research by going bald.

The Bald in the Boro event took place Friday night at Lanes, Trains and Automobiles in Murfreesboro.

It raised money for the Saint Baldrick's Foundation.

Men, women and kids went bald for a cause that touches everyone's hearts.

"I had a cousin who had a two year old son Johnathan who lived in California and he passed away from childhood cancer. So when I found out about the opportunity to do Bald in the Boro I jumped on it,” said Janice Denson who participated in the event.

"We've already had one cancer survivor who is, I think she was about 8 years old. She had her hair back for 18 months and she decided to shave her head again,” said shaving coordinator, Marshall Campbell.

The foundation reports more children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease.
