NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Percy Priest dam celebrated a milestone by turning 50 years old.
The Army Corps of Engineers was in town Friday to celebrate the big achievement.
A plaque commemorating the anniversary was unveiled with three mayors, a Metro Council member, and Percy Priest's biographer in attendance.
Smyrna Mayor Mary Esther Reed said she sees great things ahead for the next 50 years.
Mayor David Briley's grandfather, Beverly Briley, was mayor of Nashville when he attended the original dedication in 1968.
