NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Perry County teenager has been charged with murder.

Christopher Farrar, age 16, is accused of shooting and killing Sergeant First Class Michael Braden, age 45,  at the Perry County National Guard Armory in July of 2014.

Investigators with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation believe Farrar gained access to the Armory and fired several shots. One of those shots hit Sgt. Braden who later died.

Farrar, who was 15 at the time of the shooting, was taken into custody that night and charged with criminal homicide.

He was transferred to adult court last month and Monday the Perry County Grand Jury indicted Farrar on one count of first degree murder. He was served the indictment at the Williamson County Juvenile Center where he has been held.

Farrar will be transferred to the Perry County Jail.
