NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A person was hit and killed by a train Wednesday evening in Donelson.
WeGo officials reported the incident saying the train hit the individual around 4:30 near the Donelson Train Station at Shady Grove Road.
The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition, according to fire officials. But police say the victim later died from their injuries.
No injuries have been reported among the 32 passengers on board at the time, according to WeGo officials. Passengers awaiting the second train leaving downtown Nashville from Riverfront Station were provided a bus bridge to the Donelson Station. From there, all passengers were able to board another train to continue their commutes home.
