A man was injured and taken to an area hospital after being hit by a tow truck in Nashville.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the incident happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday at 4th Avenue South and Lafayette Street.
The driver of the tow truck was hauling a disabled Metro police car when he struck the man, who was out on the street.

However, no officers were a part of the crash.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle remained on the scene for quite some time and blocked some lanes while officers continued their investigation.
Police said the driver is not facing any charges at this time. There were no signs of alcohol or drugs at the crash site.
The investigation remains ongoing.
