NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Crews were called to Nashville International Airport Friday morning after a plane caught fire. No one was hurt.

Officials with the Nashville International Airport said the Skywest aircraft was a Delta flight headed to Cincinnati. The incident happened around 6:45 a.m.

As the plane pushed back from the jet bridge, the engine turned on and an auxiliary unit caught fire. After the engine was turned off, the fire extinguished itself.

No additional rescue was needed and no one was injured.

The plane was towed back to the gate and passengers were taken to another aircraft.

Witnesses shared their photos on social media Friday morning, showing flames erupting from the tail of the plane.
