HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A ceremony was held Friday to unveil a plaque honoring former Hendersonville Police Officer Spencer Bristol.
The ceremony was filled with friends, family and community members who cared about Officer Bristol.
He died after he was hit by a car while chasing after a suspect on Interstate 65 near Goodlettsville in December of last year.
The plaque was dedicated in his honor and was paid for by a young girl who worked a summer job to pay for it. His plaque was the tenth name added outside the Sumner County Sheriff's Department as part of its fallen officers memorial wall.
