A Nashville father was arrested Tuesday after police said he passed out in the driver's seat of his car, while his baby was in the back seat.

Metro Nashville police said a neighbor happened to walk by the parked vehicle and heard the baby crying. They called police for help.

When officers arrived at about noon Tuesday, they said they found Donta Waggoner slumped over the steering wheel, and his infant daughter in her car seat. The temperature at the time was about 32 degrees, according to Storm 5 Weather.

Neighbors told police the car had been parked in the spot for about an hour, before they heard the baby crying.

Thankfully, it appears the baby is okay. However, police said Waggoner was nearly unconscious. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Tuesday night, Waggoner was booked into jail on multiple charges, including child endangerment and driving under the influence.
