NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have identified the body found in a field in west Nashville early Wednesday morning. The man had previously been reported missing.
Officials with Metro police said the man was identified as 53-year-old Daniel Therrien. His body was found near a homeless camp off Charlotte Pike.
Therrien, who had multiple sclerosis, used a powered wheelchair. Police said he was last seen Sunday and was known to visit the camp.
Officers responded to the area Wednesday morning to look for Therrien.
A couple told police they heard someone calling for help early Tuesday morning but did not find anyone.
Police said it appears his wheelchair became struck in a small sandy pit. His body was found next to his wheelchair around 4:15 a.m.
No signs of foul play were found at the scene. The Medical Examiner would determine the cause of death.
