Police identify Madison murder victim

MADISON, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police detectives have identified a man who was shot and killed Thursday night in Madison.

Police say 32-year-old Justin D. Divens was murdered when he was shot inside a dark gray Dodge Charger then dumped onto Old Hickory Boulevard near Gray Avenue. He was identified through his fingerprints.

Divens’ 2008 Dodge Charger was recovered from Archwood Apartments in Madison.

A witness reported to police that the Dodge was speeding in traffic Thursday night when he saw what he believed to be muzzle flashes from inside the car. He said the vehicle then slowed to a near stop, the passenger side rear door opened, and the gunshot victim (Divens) was pushed onto the roadway. The Dodge then sped away.
