An investigation started after two armed robberies were reported in Hermitage on Monday.
The first of two incidents happened around 6 p.m. along Hermitage Park Drive at The Park at Hermitage apartments when a suspect described as a teenager in a hoodie approached two neighbors in front of their apartments.
“He just walked up and pointed the gun at us and said give me your purse and keys," one of the victims, who asked to remain anonymous, said, adding that her neighbor refused to give over her purse. “He looked at me and he said, ‘tell her to give me her purse or I’m gonna shoot both of you.’”
The suspect was able to wrestle the purse away from the neighbor, pulling her to the ground, before running off.
The second robbery happened about 4 hours later at the Highlands at the lake apartment complex on Arbor Lake Boulevard. A pizza driver for Papa John’s was robbed at gunpoint by two men.
The victim told police he was at one of the buildings when the two approached him. One stole pizza, wings, and a soda. The other took $37 out of his pocket and they both fled on foot.
The suspects were described as being two teens wearing blue hooded sweatshirts.
The incidents were similar to recent robberies in Mt. Juliet. However, police have not determined if they're related.
