An investigation got underway Tuesday morning after a suspicious package was reported at Cigna-HealthSpring in Nashville.
Metro Nashville Police officials said they were alerted of the package at 9 a.m. and set up a command in the area.
Cigna-HealthSpring officials said an employee found the suspicious substance in an envelope while opening mail.
Employees were removed from the area and referred to medical care as a precaution.
Authorities later deemed the area safe and continue to investigate the incident.
