Metro Nashville Police detectives asked for the public's help to find out how 56-year-old Tony Corsello was fatally injured.

Just before noon Tuesday, a citizen called to report that Corsello was lying by the roadway near the intersection of Foothill Drive & Murfreesboro Pike.

He was unresponsive and bleeding from the nose. The Nashville Fire Department was responded and transported Corsello to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Corsello died Tuesday evening. An autopsy determined Corsello suffered a fractured skull and ribs; however, it was not known whether he may have been hit by a vehicle, fell on his own, or was assaulted. The manner of his death is undetermined at present.

Anyone seeing Corsello in the area of Foothill Drive and Murfreesboro Pike between 10 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Tuesday was asked to call the South Precinct at 615-862-7744 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
