NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police officials say they're investigating a case of two people found dead in West Nashville as a double homicide.

Police say 33-year-old Holly A. Williams and her estranged boyfriend 36-year-old William L. Lanway were found shot to death Friday morning off a construction road at 497 Old Hickory Boulevard in West Nashville.

Lanway was arrested on a domestic assault charge for punching Williams last December. He was also recently arrested on March 4 on charges of aggravated assault and false imprisonment for attacking Williams in a domestic violence incident. Williams had obtained an order of protection against Lanway.

Police say a construction worker found the pair late Friday morning inside Williams’ crashed 2005 white Acura sedan. The car had gone off the construction road, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree. Both airbags deployed.

Investigators searched Williams’ Hillmeade Drive apartment after getting a search warrant.

Anyone with information about the murders of Holly Williams and William Lanway, or anyone seeing either victim last Thursday/early Friday was asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. West Precinct Detective Patrick Cuthbertson, 615-862-7456, is leading this investigation.
