NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 27-year-old man was arrested late Wednesday night in connection to human remains that were found at a campsite.
Metro police said a man's remains were found earlier on Wednesday in a burned campsite on Sixth Avenue S. David Williams was charged with criminal homicide in the case.
The remains were tentatively identified as 55-year-old Rodney J. McCoy. Police officials said the Medical Examiner’s Office will work with McCoy’s brother to confirm his identity through DNA analysis.
Police said during an interview Williams admitted to being involved in a dispute with McCoy and striking him with a machete.
Williams is being held in jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
